Zenus Bank, a digital bank making US bank accounts available internationally, has become the first bank to launch a Visa Infinite Debit Card to a global audience.
This development allows people in over 46 countries to easily apply for a US bank account online. They will then be issued a virtual Visa Infinite debit card and receive a physical card in under ten days.
The Visa Infinite card is typically a credit card, but Zenus has offered it as a debit card.
Through the Visa card, users will have travel protection, purchase protections, and more. The SmartMetal physical card will feature a metal core with the Zenus brand etched into it.
Zenus also hopes the launch of the Visa Infinite card will help accelerate digital inclusion and enable digital payments across the Latin American and Caribbean region and in other underbanked markets.
Zenus became the first international financial entity to become a principal member of Visa.
Visa has had a busy start to 2023. It recently joined the $45m Series B funding round of Moov Financial. The company aims to help developers embed payment functionality into their software.
The payments giant also teamed up with Froda and Lunar in a global deal to launch a technology aimed at resolving push-payment problems.
