Sustainable Contract Logistics in Latin America

CEVA Logistics has opened a new Contract Logistics warehouse in Jundiai, Brazil, setting its new standard for sustainable warehousing in Latin America (LATAM) and aiming for the facility to be its regional center of excellence. Located 57 kilometers northwest of Sao Paolo, the greenfield site met all CEVA’s criteria, including the ability to retain 100 percent of its workforce operating at the previous site in Louveira, Brazil. The new facility is equipped with 62 administrative workstations, 14 conference rooms, two training rooms and two spacious employee break areas. With the office and meeting space available, the company’s LATAM Contract Logistics management is also now located on-site. The warehouse of 25,000 square meters features 37 docks and a storage capacity of 38,000 pallets. After some initial challenges in site location, the final plot chosen was able to accommodate the company’s strategic development plan to showcase its sustainable construction initiatives and to develop its carbon credit program.

As part of CEVA’s commitment to reduce its environmental footprint, the company is bringing new sustainability to its Contract Logistics operation sites. The Jundiai warehouse includes translucent ceiling tiles, a program to reuse rainwater, all LED lighting, and a thermos-acoustic system to help regulate the building’s internal temperature. The building is also being studied to determine how much solar energy can be harvested from its planned solar panel installation. The new Jundiai facility is a great example of our commitment and investment to operational excellence.
