Middle East Renewable Target

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also set an ambitious target for renewable energy production, with the Vision 2030 plan aiming to generate 9.5 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2023 and 58.7 gigawatts by 2030.

The Sultanate of Oman is looking to expand its renewable energy capacity from the current level of 0.3% to 10% by 2025. The Omani government has also set a goal of increasing the contribution of renewable energy sources to 15% by 2030.

The State of Qatar has set a target of generating 5% of its total energy output from renewable energy sources by 2021 and aiming to increase it to 15% by 2030.

The Republic of Iraq is aiming to generate 10% of its total energy output from renewable energy sources by 2022, and to increase it to 25% by 2035.

The government of Kuwait has set an ambitious target of generating 15% of its total energy output from renewable energy sources by 2030.

The State of Bahrain is aiming to generate 5% of its total energy output from renewable energy sources by 2025, and to increase it to 10% by 2030.

At the regional level, the Arab League has set a target of generating 10% of the region’s total energy output from renewable energy sources by 2030.

The Middle East is making great strides towards achieving its renewable energy targets, and the region is well on its way to an energy future that is more sustainable and renewable. With this progress, the region is sure to become a leader in renewable energy production and usage.
