DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF), the business aviation company with its own FBO and hangar facility in Dubai, has recorded a 25 percent increase in private and business jet activity in the first quarter of this year. From its facility at Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai South, DCAF saw an increased number of VVIP guests arriving from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Europe, India and Pakistan. The company also said it saw increased visitors from Israel following the signing of the Abraham Accords agreement to open diplomatic, trade and economic relations between the two countries.
The increase in flight movement is the result of the increased confidence in the UAE government’s vaccination program, tourism-related initiatives and other economic stimulus measures taken to boost consumer and business sentiment. The uptick in private and business jet activity has also seen increased business across other areas of DCAF’s business including charter, ground handling, maintenance, repair and overhaul. DCAF is a joint venture between Stuttgart-based DC Aviation, the largest operator of business jets in Germany, and Dubai-based Al-Futtaim, a privately-owned UAE business conglomerate. DCAF is the first and fully integrated business aviation facility based out of Al Maktoum International Airport located at Dubai South with two dedicated hangars and a VVIP lounge.
