Technip Energies is to accelerate the energy transition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region through a commitment to decarbonization. A partnership with the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) will see the companies collaborating on projects centered around carbon capture, in addition to blue and green hydrogen related projects. An agreement was signed by the partners at Gastech 2021, building upon a 30-year long working relationship between the two.
Recognizing the ‘unprecedented momentum’ in the industry for clean energy, the joint venture will also explore other renewable energy-related sectors such as waste-to-energy, biorefining, biochemistry, and ammonia. This partnership will encompass the right mix of identification capability for concrete opportunities like carbon dioxide (CO2) capture, blue/green hydrogen, and ammonia. Examining the potential offered in these areas, along with utilizing the experience of both companies, will provide ‘holistic solutions’ to accelerate the transition towards a low-carbon society.
