Belgium has reached an initial deal with French utility group Engie to extend the use of nuclear power by 10 years. This comes as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine forced the government to rethink plans to rely more on natural gas.
Egypt and Norway signed an agreement on the construction and operation of a project to produce green hydrogen with a capacity of 100 MW in the SCZone in Ain Shokhna. The two countries also signed an agreement on buying hydrogen. The agreement comes while Egypt and Norway’s Scatec company signed last month an MoU on the construction of Egypt’s first ammonia plant, which comes at a cost of $5 billion.
