Enel has inaugurated the first “EV Service Station” in Latin America located in Chile to serve any type of vehicle that uses electricity as its main energy source. The forecourt is located near the Santiago de Chile International Airport and is equipped with 23 charging points. As stated by the company in a press release, this is the first 100% electric multipurpose facility. Cars, trucks, cab fleets and buses will be able to refuel there 24 hours a day. This new development is part of the company’s climate agenda to keep up with the ecological demands of today’s market for the future of the planet. The new EV service station has been built with rest areas and a biodiversity and environmentally friendly landscaping project. In turn, the canopies of each charging point will be equipped with 36 photovoltaic panels on their roofs. Thanks to this, they will automatically generate energy to contribute to and complement the everyday functioning of the charging points.
There will be 20 fast and ultra-fast chargers of 150- and 50-kW power, which will allow optimal and flexible charging of all types of vehicles in up to 10 minutes. On the other hand, there will also be another three 22KW chargers for charging vehicles in six hours, thus taking advantage of the overnight charging time for fleet vehicles. Each of the chargers will be online through the JuicePass digital platform, an application that allows access to one of the largest public charging networks in the country. Through the app, it will be possible to manage the supply of electric vehicles, locate the nearest pump for their reserve and monitor their charge levels in real time.
