Vestas Wind Systems in a Collective Repowering Scheme

The Danish wind turbine maker has been selected by Windkoepel Groen, which manages the Windplan Groen project in the Dutch province of Flevoland, to deliver turbines for seven plants within the collective repowering scheme. The order calls for the supply and installation of 37 V162-6.2 MW EnVentus machines, some of which will be delivered in a 6 MW operating mode, and V126-3.45 MW wind turbines in 3.8 MW operating mode. Equipment deliveries are planned to start in the third quarter of 2022, with the last machines scheduled to go online in late 2023. Also in the Netherlands, Vestas has been contracted to supply and install turbines for the 116-MW Windpark Maasvlakte 2 project. The wind farm will be built in the Rotterdam port area by domestic utility Eneco, which early last year won a tender for its construction held by the Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management.

The wind park will be using 13 V162-6.0 MW turbines and nine V117-4.2 MW turbines in 4.3 MW operating mode. Turbine deliveries will commence in the second quarter of 2022 to bring the plant online by end-2022. Once fully operational, it will be capable of producing 416 GWh of electricity annually, or enough to supply 152,000 homes per year. Meanwhile in Poland, Vestas has been picked by Passat Energy Sp zoo, a special purpose vehicle owned by Iberdrola Renovables Internacional SAU, to equip its 50-MW Korytnica II wind farm in central Poland. The project will expand the existing 83-MW Korytnica I complex, which uses 25 V126-3.3 MW Vestas machines, with 14 units of the V126-3.45 MW turbines in 3.6 MW operating mode. The extension will be serviced by Vestas under a long-term contract. Among Vestas’ latest European orders is an 80-MW deal in France awarded by renewable energy producer H2air and accompanied by a 20-year AOM 5000 service agreement. The contract will see Vestas’s supply and install turbines from its 4-MW platform at three sites. The Ardennes I wind farm in Grand-Est will be equipped with 12 turbines with V150 rotors, while the Somme I and Aisne I parks in Hauts de France will be powered by 11 turbines with V126 rotors. Turbines for Ardennes I will be shipped by the fourth quarter of 2022 and commissioning is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023. Turbine delivery and commissioning at Somme I and Aisne I are planned by 2022.
