Brazilian energy trader 2W Energia has secured USD 45 million (EUR 37.8m) in financing for the construction of the 138.6-MW Anemus wind complex and for its growth plans. The company closed the loan agreement with Darby International Capital. USD 35 million of the total will be used for the Anemus complex. The remaining USD 10 million will be allocated for the expansion of 2W Energia’s sales force and its customer base, through the conversion of captive energy consumers into free energy market consumers, as well as in the company’s digital platform.
Covering an area of 3,700 hectares (9,143 acres) in the municipalities of Currais Novos and Sao Vicente, Rio Grande do Norte state, the Anemus wind complex will consist of three wind farms with 33 turbines in total. Power supply is scheduled to commence in the first half of 2022, 2W Energia says.
